A reporter from China Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television News learned from the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television recently that the 2017 annual verification of national publication distribution entities has been basically completed. Data shows that the overall scale of China's publication distribution industry has further expanded, and its main economic indicators have achieved positive growth for three consecutive years.
The verification results show that in 2016, national publication distribution entities achieved a total sales volume of publications of 349.869 billion yuan, an increase of 7.2% over the previous year; the retail sales of publications reached 141.944 billion yuan, an increase of 18.2% over the previous year; the total profit was 30.48 billion yuan, an increase of 15.2% over the previous year; the total assets stood at 959 billion yuan, an increase of 33.7% over the previous year; the number of employees was 1.095 million, an increase of 10.8% over the previous year.
In this annual verification work, a total of 119,430 distribution entities across the country participated in the annual verification. Among them, 112,169 entities passed the verification, 4,471 entities passed the verification with a deferred status, and 2,790 entities had their registration cancelled.
